Once America's premiere Birding Binocular, the Z is still an incredible Vin Bin with a HUGE following because of its crisp views and amazing lightweight! Everyone who first picks one up is astounded. And the views, especially with those deep black plastic eye cups screwed off, then elicit more gasps of wonder. Easily as well made as the German Zeiss binos of the same era, the B&L binos are world class and highly collectible.
This beloved set was so well liked a former, probably original, owner had her name proudly inscribed left prism cover! Along the way they were badly stored and much damage ensued. We cleaned it all up and, while far from perfect, views are now GREAT. The screws show rust and areas of black enamel paint show bubbling. The front objective lenses could use more advanced help. The balsam cement of the doublet lenses has been effected and show blemishes. Yet they do not effect views to a noticeable extent.
